ABOUT DAVID

I’m David, an experienced, certified yoga teacher (instructor, guide or whatever you want to call it)... but I am simply a guy who is passionate about yoga and who strives to share what I know about yoga in a way that is fun, informative, challenging and easy to follow and learn.

I love to teach yoga because I’ve seen what happens when someone rediscovers their body - the spark, the confidence, the “I didn’t know I could do that” moment. Those moments matter and motivate. They change how we age, how we move, and how we show up in the world. They keep us coming back for more!

Common Misconceptions about Yoga

Yoga isn’t about gender or body type - it’s about mobility, strength, balance, and taking care of the body you live in. Plenty of men, including athletes, use yoga to stay flexible, prevent injuries, and move with more ease.

If you’re willing to give it a try, you might be surprised at how quickly you stop feeling like “the only guy” and start feeling like “the smart guy who figured out yoga actually helps."

For men-only classes, check out my Yoga for Men options.

It’s a really common worry, but the truth is you don’t need to be flexible to start yoga - yoga builds flexibility. Tight muscles are actually one of the best reasons to begin.

My classes are designed for real people with real bodies, especially those of us in our 50s and beyond. We focus on gentle strength, mobility, balance, and simple movements that meet you exactly where you are. No pretzel poses, no pressure.

If you can breathe, you can do yoga. And over time, those tight muscles start to soften, your joints feel better, and everyday movement becomes easier. Starting is the hardest part, but you’re far more capable than you think.

It’s completely normal to feel unsure at the beginning, but yoga isn’t about being young, flexible, or looking a certain way. It’s about learning your body at any age, in any condition, one breath and one movement at a time.

No one starts out knowing what they’re doing - not even the teachers. And you’re not going to look like a fool. You’re going to look like someone who’s taking care of themselves, someone who’s brave enough to begin.

Every wobble, every modification, every moment of “wait… what?” is part of the practice. You belong in yoga exactly as you are today.

Balance is tough for a lot of us. But yoga isn’t about nailing every pose or standing on one leg like a statue. It’s about building stability gradually, using support, and learning how your body moves.

In my classes, we use chairs, walls, props and/or simple modifications so you always feel safe. Balance improves over time, and you never have to push past what feels right for you. But embrace those wobbles and shakes, it's your body learning. Even losing your balance and trying again is your body learning.

You don’t need perfect balance to start yoga. You just need a willingness to start where you are, and we build confidence step by step.

You’re not too old. It’s never too late to start. Choosing to begin now is wise and caring - it’s you supporting your body in a way that’s sustainable and kind.

Yoga meets you exactly where you are. It’s one of the most supportive ways to stay strong, mobile, and confident as we age. There’s no pressure to be flexible or experienced. You simply begin gently, with movements that feel good for your body, and build from there.

Small, steady steps create real change. And your body deserves that kind of care.

Yoga is for EVERYONE

Yoga is for any age, any body type, any body shape, any fitness level, any skill level...it is a great supplement to any lifestyle...I started at age 53 with zero knowledge.

So I strive to encourage those intimidated by yoga to give it a try, or a few more tries with a teacher/class you can connect with. Every teacher is different. There's lots to choose from, so find the right one(s) for you - I would be honored if you chose me.
